Here’s what we know about donating clothes in Asheville

-
Zen and Now at Asheville Community Yoga - Takes seasonal clothing for thrift store. Currently accepting donations, as long as they are fall/winter items in good condition. Limit to 20 donated items per person.

We learned from AVL today that, "The City of Asheville donation sites at Harrah’s Cherokee Center and in West Asheville at 298 Patton Ave are not currently taking clothing donations. The City of Asheville recommends clothing donations go to Goodwill sites, which are providing vouchers for those in need for clothes." To get a Goodwill voucher to use at any Goodwill in North Carolina, you must go to the Workforce Development Center, 1616 Patton Avenue.
-
Joe Gerard (Facebook link) is setting up regurlarly at different spots around town to collect and distribute clothing. His Facebook page is the best place to go for details and we are also trying to repost on our Instagram any time he is set up.
